FAQ

Questions about superimposing images online

How do I superimpose one image over another online?

Load your base image, then add the image you want on top. Drag it into position, resize it, adjust the opacity, and click Export PNG to download the result — all without uploading anything to a server.

What does 'superimpose' mean for images?

Superimposing places one image directly on top of another so both are visible. The opacity slider controls how transparent the top image is — at 100 % it's fully solid, at lower values the base image shows through.

What if the images are different sizes?

The base image sets the canvas dimensions. You can freely scale the superimposed image to fill the entire canvas, shrink it to a small logo, or anything between. Aspect ratio is locked by default but can be overridden.

Can I superimpose a PNG with a transparent background?

Yes — transparent PNGs work perfectly. Only the visible pixels appear over the base image; transparent areas let the base show through. This is the cleanest way to add a logo, watermark, or cut-out.

Can I superimpose more than two images?

Yes — you can stack up to 5 overlay layers on top of your base image. Each layer has its own independent opacity, position, size, rotation, and flip controls.

What file format does it export?

Always a full-resolution, lossless PNG — no compression artifacts, no quality loss, and no watermark added to your image.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. PicOverlay works in any modern mobile browser — Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android — with no app to install.
