FAQ

Questions about overlaying two images

How do I overlay two images online for free?

Upload your first image as the base, then upload the second image as the overlay. Move, resize, rotate, or fade the second image with opacity control, then export the merged result as a PNG.

How do I control how the two images blend?

Use the opacity slider on the overlay layer. At 100 % opacity the top image is fully solid — good for logos and watermarks. Drop it to 50–70 % for a blended or double-exposure look. Experiment until it looks right, then export.

What if my two images are different sizes?

The base image sets the canvas size. You can freely resize the top image to fill the canvas, shrink it to a small logo, or anything in between. Proportions are locked by default but can be adjusted.

Can I overlay a PNG with a transparent background?

Yes. A transparent PNG composites cleanly — only the visible pixels show, with the base image showing through the transparent areas. This is the best way to add a logo, watermark or cut-out subject.

Can I overlay more than two images?

Yes — you can add up to 5 overlay layers on top of your base image. Each layer has its own opacity, position, size, rotation and flip controls.

What format is the exported image?

Always a full-resolution, lossless PNG — no compression, no quality loss, no watermark added.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. PicOverlay works in any modern mobile browser — Safari on iOS or Chrome on Android. No app needed.
